Peter Arnstein graduated from Manchester in 1979 and now has over 20 years of surgical experience. He trained in numerous units in Australia and throughout the UK, latterly at Guy’s Hospital in London and the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. By this time Peter had gained a double Surgical Fellowship (England and Edinburgh), the Board's Exam in Plastic Surgery and entered onto The Specialty Register and the European Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery.

 

He gained FRCS Eng & Edinburgh, European Certificate of Completion of Training in Plastic Surgery and UK Specialist Registration in Plastic Surgery with the GMC. Although his practice covers almost all aspects of reconstructive plastic surgery his predominant interests are all facets of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, customised microsurgical reconstructions, skin cancer and cosmetic surgery. He is a leading authority on endoscopic browlift using Endotines, and lectures to other consultant surgeons around the country on the use of this product and the correct procedure.

 

He believes offering straightforward, balanced advice to patients promotes informed patient choice. His passion for surgery is only matched by that for his family, wavesailing and snowboarding (in this order!) Peter is a member of BAPS, BAAPS.

 

Over the years Peter has been involved in many radio and television programmes, including Extreme Makeover UK, BBC’s Test The Nation Show, Late & Line, GMTV, Heaven & Earth, Heston Blumenthals Medieval Feast, Supersize vs Superskinny with Anna Richardson, Extreme Slimmers shown on ITV and more recently The Ugly Face of Beauty on Channel 4 with Christian Jessen.

 

His passion for surgery is only matched by that for his family, wave sailing and snowboarding (in this order!

Training Undertaken

I qualified from Manchester Medical School in 1979. I went on to acquire wide experience as a trainee in 5 major units across the UK and in Australia and was subsequently appointed as a consultant at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. By this stage I had gained a double Surgical Fellowship (England and Edinburgh), the Board’s Exam in Plastic Surgery and entered onto The Specialty Register and the European Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery (General Medical Council No. 20505040). I hold memberships of British Association of Plastic Surgeons, the British Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons BAPS/BAAPS, now amalgamated as BAPRAS, and a Fellow of The Hand Surgery Society.
